 \n\nThe EPIC summer program will introduce students to research at the int
 ersection of physics\, scientific software\, and computing. Participants 
 will work with mentors on a focused project connected to modern experimen
 tal physics workflows\, gaining experience with data analysis\, reproducib
 le research\, and collaborative problem-solving. The program is intended 
 to provide an accessible entry point for students who may not yet have pr
 ior research experience.\nParticipants should expect to:\n\nAttend an intr
 oductory orientation covering the scientific context\, project goals\, and
  computing environment\nComplete guided tutorials in Python\, data analysi
 s\, version control\, and research documentation\nWork on a defined EPIC r
 esearch or software task with regular mentor support\nParticipate in daily
  meetings to discuss progress\, troubleshoot issues\, and learn about rela
 ted career paths\nMaintain a short project log and prepare a final present
 ation or poster summarizing their work\n\n \nParticipants will receive a 
 stipend to cover the cost of living while attending the one-week program. 
 Additional support for travel expenses is available on an as-needed basis.
