Description

This is a three-day workshop aimed at working on the analysis of Beyond-the-Standard-Model searches, including dark matter and CPT and Lorentz invariance violation, in the Muon g−2 experiment. Morning game plan, Report of the Day, and Closeout Meetings will have remote access at the link below.

      Morning Game Plan Meeting

      CPLTV:

I will review the current status of the 2nd CPTLV note, showing the major plots. This includes:
      (1) the use of omega_a/omega_p and variable definitions
      (2) extraction of sensitivity (without systematic effects).
      (3) extraction of confidence level limits using Bayesian analysis (without systematic effects)

Goal for the day is to implement the systematic effects into (2) and (3)

      ULSDM:

I will briefly present the remaining items to finalize the data analysis. This will includes:

      (1) R_mu Sensitivity evaluation in the absence of significant signal
      (2) R_mu confidence interval in the presence of a significant signal

    • 2
      Morning Working Session

(ULSDM) Sensitivity I: R_mu Upper Limits (no significant signal case) - Byungchul Yu

    • 3
      Lunch Break
    • 4
      Afternoon Working Session

(ULSDM) Sensitivity II: R_mu Signal Interpretation and Confidence Interval - Byungchul Yu

    • 5
      Report of the Day Meeting

For CPTLV, I will show the updated false alarm probability and confidence level limits, hopefully including all the systematic effects.

For ULSDM, I will present preliminary results for both cases: (I) signal-non-detection and (II) signal detection. Also, I want to discuss a specific scenario where we find multiple peaks.

      Morning Game Plan Meeting

CPTLV: Thus far I have simulated only a single mode at fs. Goal is to complete the ToyMC simulations with 5 simultaneous and show that the GLS algorithm extracts them all properly. Similarly, we use a boosted data set and inject many signal modes, and show that the GLS algorithm extracts the modes properly. After checks, send a boosted data set to Simon for blinded signal injection.

      ULSDM:

I will briefly present the remaining items to finalize the systematics. This will include:

      (1) The systematic-inclusive upper limit
      (2) Systematic uncertainty arising from the positron-weighted timing scheme

    • 7
      Morning Working Session

(ULSDM) Systematics I: Uncorrelated Effects on Sensitivity - Byungchul Yu

    • 8
      Lunch Break
    • 9
      Afternoon Working Session

(ULSDM) Systematics II: Correlations and Sensitivity Bands - Byungchul Yu

    • 10
      Report of the Day Meeing

      ULSDM:

I will discuss/show the systematic effect on the sensitivity.

    • 11
      Morning Game Plan Meeting

      ULSDM:

I will keep studying the remaining systematic studies

      ULSDM:

I will discuss/show the systematic effect on the sensitivity.
